Home Office or Coworking?

When companies think of flexible working, two buzzwords immediately come to mind that are integral to hybrid working: Home office and coworking.

Coworking - absolutely flexible?

Coworking spaces have been around for about 20 years now, but the coworking movement has just caught more attention in the recent years, with more and more companies providing small coworking units on their premises or renting space in larger coworking chains.

Coworking spaces promise more flexibility and a different way of working. However, companies often deprive themselves of their flexibility precisely by entering into a contract with a certain coworking provider and henceforth being limited to the use of its space.

Home office - where people are at home

People who work flexibly also sometimes work from home in a home office. The much-vaunted "I'll do my laundry on the side" or "I'll divide it up freely and still get just as much done" works well for many employees and has long since become part of the working world.

The home environment even inspires some to peak performance. However, the dark side of the home office should not be concealed: Social differences become noticeable here, private and professional life do can not be separated clearly and social contacts are limited to Zoom and Skype conferences.

As diverse as possible

One's own work consists of so many different tasks. Each task in itself needs an individual working environment. If accounting is best done in a concentrated home office, creative concepts are probably best developed in an inspiring coworking space. It is therefore advisable to provide your own employees with as flexible working environments as possible.

Those, who have the freedom to work in different environments, automatically create exactly the right environment for the individual task. This leads to an efficient use of work performance and at the same time, increases the experience and fun factor of the respective task.
